“Turn Trash into Cash”
is the motto that Ursula Schoeneich President & CEO
the owner of freerecycling.com lives by. This 100%
woman- owned
company recycles used ink cartridges and has set up a free
nation wide recycling and reclamation service.
The market for inkjet cartridges is huge.
With 15 years experience within the recycling business in Europe
and Asia, Ursula was determined to set up a recycling business
in the United States.
freerecycling.com is a free service to anyone
interested in receiving cash back for cartridges that are empty,
used or expired. Shipping and handing costs are prepaid for and
customers can receive up to $3.60 for each
used ink cartridge.
This service is also available for customers who do not have
access to the internet. You may either fax or call in your
request. The turn around time is quick and easy. Payment is sent
to the customer after cartridges arrive to the warehouse and are
inspected.
The potential of this system is unlimited.
There is no hassle and no heavy products to handle. It has been
designed so everyone can set up his or her little “network” at
home or office.
The idea of “Turning Trash into Cash” has
become very popular. Many schools, non-profit organizations, and
churches are using this service to raise money for donations. It
is fun and easy to do. On the web site,
http://www.freerecycling.com,
there is a “Donation Directory.” Any organization listed within
the directory can receive a cash donation from the customer who
wants to donate the money.
Within only 6 months of business, more than
2,000 customers have signed up for this free service. The goal
of freerecycling.com is to have more then 20,000 customers by
the end of the year 2005. The potential waste of used ink
cartridges are estimated to be about 300-400 million of used ink
printer cartridges per year in the United States. More than 1
billion cartridges are sold each year and most of them are going
to landfills.
Receiving $3.60 per used ink cartridge is a lot of money and it
can add up. With a large amount of ink cartridges, some
customers are receiving checks between $50.00-$300.00 per
shipment.
The latest program used to increase
business and raise more money for customers is called “Refer a
Friend”. Any customer can sign up for this program and receive a
free web site. For each referral, the customer will receive a
20% commission on every shipment the new customer makes, as long
as the new customer continues shipping cartridges.
